Royale Noir – a mystery XP theme by Microsoft
Since a friend (sylverstyle) showed me this XP Theme I felt in love with it from first sight. The original article is from Long Zheng and the man who has digged it out from the Microsoft`s archives is Channel9 member W3bbo . During Royale`s development (the XP Media Center theme), the graphic artists also produced a black version of the skin. The result is named `Royale Noir`. If Royale was a day, Royale Noir is the night.
Royale Noir is verified-by-Microsoft XP theme. However being incomplete, it is not recommended for the general consumers and that`s why it is dusted in the Microsoft`s archive. You can download the theme from the Long Zheng`s article or from here.
To install the XP theme extract files to `c:\windows\resources\themes\royale noir` and double click on `luna.msstyles`. Select `Noir` from color scheme. I prefer from the Advanced settings to decrease the title bar height from 10 to 8, too.
A nice desktop for this theme could be the Hero`s one or any dark one.
